This Drive Devilbiss electric wheelchair combines a lightweight aluminium alloy frame with an automatic folding function to simplify transport and storage. At the touch of a button on the key fob the chair folds to a compact size within seconds. The frame finish is black aluminium alloy, chosen to balance strength with reduced weight for easier handling.
The chair is driven from the rear by two brushless motors. This rear-wheel drive layout, together with front suspension, helps to smooth the ride over uneven surfaces and improves stability when moving outdoors. Solid front castors and large treaded rear wheels provide steadiness; the rear wheels are designed to help the chair maintain grip on a range of common surfaces.
Power is supplied by a removable 24V 10Ah lithium battery. The battery is described as airline-friendly and may be charged either on the chair or when removed.
